1. ARRIVAL A - THE PLANET

You might be eating dinner, reading a book, even walking your dog or trying to sleep. Whatever you’re currently involved in, you’re suddenly pulled out of it when a mysterious portal opens around you. Now you’re falling ... falling ...

Where do you land? It could be anywhere—the top of a tree, the back of a chocobo, even out in the ocean. Or maybe you actually have a relatively normal landing in Edge, the Midgar ruins, Kalm, or somewhere else in the surrounding area, such as the wastelands or the meadow, the latter of which has a few homes standing. Some are abandoned, but at least one is occupied.

One thing is for sure—you’re not home anymore. As to where you actually are, well, you’ll have to find that out when you’re found or rescued. (Do you need to be rescued?) Be careful if you land on a chocobo. The surprised bird will very likely bolt! I'd figure out where you are before night falls.

ARRIVAL B - 7th HEAVEN
You've been directed to a hotel called 7th Heaven, it's part of Edge, near the ruins of Midgar. When you come across the hotel, you'll notice it's grand. It's quite big, and has several floors. It's building however is a bit crumbled and you can see a woman sweeping off the steps leading up and into the hotel. She asks you if you're from the portals and you respond yes, she invites you inside to get a room, something to eat and to get acquainted with the other hotel guests.

She leads you inside, gives you your room assignment and asks if anyone showed up with you. You tell her no and she takes you to the open breakfast bar. She doesn't ask how you arrived, it's likely she assumed. She introduces herself as Tifa Lockhart and let's you know that anytime you need anything, just ask around for her. There's no way for you head back home for now, you'll have to deal like everyone else. She then leaves you to your devices.

ARRIVAL C - BALAMB GARDEN -
You're directed to Balamb Garden, where an old man is hunched over and asking you if you've arrived through the portals. He introduces himself as Cid Kramer, and ushers you inside it's walls. You ask if you can get a room here, he claims you can but you'll have to enroll in the school or instruct in something as per the rules. He doesn't have time to show you around right now, so he introduces you to someone else that can help.

You're greeted by a young woman with raven hair and a few brown streaks in her hair. She introduces herself as Rinoa, she takes you to the library for entertainment purposes and then guides you to the cafeteria so you can get something to eat but she doesn't have time to show you around right now, maybe later. She tells you she's sorry but right now there's no way to get you home or anyone else for that matter.

She tells you once you're done eating, come back to the front hall, and take the elevator up to the third floor. You can talk to Squall Leonhart if you want more answers, if he's in the office. She then gives you her number incase you need assistance. Then she's gone.

2. Ghost Pokemon At Large

Autumn is coming on now, and that means it’s the Ghost Pokemons’ favorite time of year! Unfortunately for everyone else, this means pranks in droves. Most are relatively harmless, just startling or annoying, like Gengar appearing at a window to stick his tongue out or Gastly creating creepy illusions of old houses or pretending to be a con artist. But many Ghost Pokemon feed on people’s life force. These Pokemon, such as the Litwick evolution line and Greavard, will start draining energy if you’re around them too much. If they take too much, you’ll collapse unconscious. If they keep taking after that and no one is around to help you ... well, better not to think of that.

Watch your step wherever you go as Halloween season draws ever nearer, and for Heaven’s sake, don’t walk under chandeliers! Some Ghost Pokemon will try to make you become a Ghost, and even if they just want to play with you, that is totally unacceptable. Or should be.

3. Haunted House

What would an old area be without ghost stories? The Midgar ruins are rife with them. Of course, Sector 6 even has living evil houses you have to fight. But there are also some more standard haunted houses out and about. One such house is in Sector 4, an old mansion said to belong to a wealthy Shinra bigwig. It was his ancestral home and he hung onto it even after he moved up to something even bigger and newer. Some rumors said even he was afraid of the old house. He always denied such fanciful tales ... but he also always refused to go back there and prove it.

If you’re curious enough, foolish enough, or unfortunate enough to end up at the house, it’s pretty much your run-of-the-mill old mansion, with creaking floors, holes in the floors, drafty doors that seem to open and close on their own, cold spots, the sense of being watched, and if you linger too long, a strange difficulty breathing. Linger beyond that point and the ghosts may start getting physical, shoving, pushing, and throwing furniture at you. There may be valuable items in the house, but is it worth going in to get them?

If you brave the house and manage to get out alive, some people claim that after you turn off the lights, you can sometimes see them all come on at once as you’re leaving. That sort of thing causes people to leave much faster.

4. Pumpkin Fest

Gaia has its own version of Halloween, of course. It’s basically the same thing, but they usually call it Pumpkin Fest. (Some, such as Blau Town residents, will also call it Halloween.) Some towns, such as Nibelheim, have a famous Pumpkin Fest celebration that’s like Harvest and Halloween events combined. Don’t expect Cloud or Tifa or Sephiroth to want to attend it. But there’s a much bigger celebration right in Edge. Join everyone in the city center for a festival of autumn foods, intriguing vendors, and spooky activities. Outside of Edge, there’s corn mazes that participate in the celebration, with both normal and spooky paths. (Want to be chased by a chainsaw-wielding maniac? You can.) There’s also haunted walks and haunted houses of the paying attraction-type variety. Some are gory, while others focus more on old-fashioned scares. Pick your poison, if you dare. And stay alert for Ghost Pokemon. They’re thrilled by any and all Pumpkin Fest attractions and may try to scary them up a bit.

5. Who Was That Masked Man?

During the spooky months, the Black Rider has started to reappear around Gaia. He’s a mysterious man riding a black Chocobo who went around helping people from the shadows and often entered Chocobo Races. He will never stay to be caught or have his identity unmasked. Of course, there are always curious people wanting to do just that. You’re welcome to join a search or stakeout or start one of your own. If there’s trouble afoot, he’s likely to appear. Just don’t put yourself in danger while trying to catch a glimpse of him!

Hans Westergaard | Disney Speedstorm/Frozen | OTA

[personal profile] thethirteenthson 2025-10-04 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
((OOC: I’m playing from Speedstorm verse because for some reason Hans as a race car driver is just so perfect to me. In his world, Frozen happened and the movie is based on real events, and he is trying to put his life back together after some mysterious force caused him to go temporarily evil against his will. If he doesn’t seem quite like himself, he’s just guarded and traumatized from that mess. If he starts getting comfortable around your characters, or if you catch him with his guard down, he’ll start acting more like his lovable self from the majority of the movie. Since the movie is real in his world, feel free to recognize him either from the movie or knowing about the real events on which it was based. He’ll be chagrined but resigned.))

Ghost Pokemon

Well, he knows about Pokemon, but he wasn’t expecting them to actually be real or for them to crash the events here. Really, he’s just trying to shop at one of the little stores along the Main Street. He did not need to be greeted by the sight of a huge grinning Gengar on the other side of the window, sticking its tongue out at him.

“... Well, that was mature. Now what do you plan on doing next?”

The Gengar grins more and giggles. Encouraging it was probably not a good idea.

Pumpkin Fest

Well, Hans can’t say he’s particularly a Halloween enthusiast, but as long as he’s stuck in this other world, he’s going to sample everything. He might as well, especially when he’s trying to put his life back together. His manager has encouraged him to try more normal activities. And at least here, no one seems to know about him or what he did against his will back in Arendelle. He hopes.

So he’s wandering around the celebration in Edge, trying some of the food, looking at vendors, and somehow wandering down a spooky path to a corn maze. Later he finds himself in a corn maze, and wouldn’t you know it’s the one with the chainsaw-wielding maniac? Maybe you’ve ended up there too.

Who Was That Masked Man?

Wandering down streets late at night isn’t typically advisable, but he is trained as a swordsman and has his blade by his side. His manager also insists he carry a gun, but he prefers a sword even if it’s archaic these days. It doesn’t seem to be archaic in this world.

When he hears someone screaming for help, he instinctively runs towards the sound ... only to see a rider all in black riding a black Chocobo lassoing two thugs who were trying to rob a hapless woman. She stares in shock and awe and gratitude.

“Who is that?!” Hans exclaims as the Black Rider dashes past. The man looks broad, but very little else can be determined from his billowing attire and cape.
